Morning, afternoon, evening or by the hour. Room hire, minimum spend or per person.

A space can be booked in sessions, by the hour, or both. The price can be room hire, a minimum spend, a price per person, or a mix.

Sessions

A session is a named block of time, such as morning, afternoon or evening, with a start and an end. Guests only see sessions that are still free.

On that screen the guest picks the date, then a session. A session that is already taken is not offered.

If you also allow booking by the hour, set the hours the room can be used and any setting-up or clearing time that must stay free. That gap stops one booking running into the next.

How the price is worked out

You can charge in three ways, and you can combine them:

  • Room hire, a set amount for the session.
  • Minimum spend, an amount that must be spent, with anything above it still to pay.
  • Per person, a price multiplied by the number of guests.

The guest sees the total before they pay, including any extras.

The deposit

When the guest books, you can take:

  • no payment now, and settle on the day
  • a deposit by card
  • the full amount by card

The card payment goes to your own Stripe account. Hospitality App takes no commission. Stripe’s own fees still apply. Connect payments first, in Connect card payments.

A space can instead take an enquiry, which you confirm yourself. That is covered in Taking an enquiry.
